Inexcercise
of the powers conferred by clause(a) of
the third proviso to sub-section(i) of Section
88 of the Motor Vehicles Act. 1988(59 of
1988), and in supersession of the notification
of the Government of India in the Ministry
of Shipping and Transport No.S.O.10(E),
dated the 17th January, 1988. the Central
Government hereby specifies, the form of
certificate referred to in the said clause,
issued by the Regional Transport Authority
which granted the permit.

"Ambulance"
means vehicle specially designed, constructed
or modified and equipped and intended
to be used for emergency transportation
of persons who are sick, injured, wounded
or oterwise incapacitated;
-
"Animal
Ambulance" means an ambulance intended
to be used for emergency transportation
of sick, injured, wounded or otherwise
incapacitated animals;
-
"Auto-rickshaw"
means a motor vehicle having three wheels
constructed or adapted and used to carry
not more than three passengers or hire
or reward excluding the driver;
-
"Campers
van" means a motor vehicle designed
or constructed to provide living quarters
for recreational, camping or travel
use with direct walk through access
to the living quarters from the driver's
seat;
-
"Camping
Trailer" means a trailer not used
for transport of goods, constructed
with partial side walls which folds
for towing and unfolds to provide temporary
living accommodation for recreational
camping and tourist purposes;
-
"Dumper"
means a self propelled goods vehicle
having an open cargo body designed to
transport and dump or spread material;
-
"House
Trailer" means a trailer or semi-trailer
equipped and used for temporary living
quarters for camping or tourist purpose
and not for the transportation of freight,
goods, wares and merchandise and the
like:

"Prime
Mover" means a motor vehicle designed
and used primarily for drawing other
vehicle and not so constructed to carry
a load other than a part of the weight
of the vehicle and load as drawn;

"Tow
Truck" means a motor vehicle designed
or altered and equipped for and used
to push, tow or draw disabled vehicles
by means of crane, hoist two bar, two
line, auxillary axles and to render
assistance to disabled vehicles;
-
"Trackless
Trolly Coach" means a motor vehicle
which is propelled by electric power
obtained from overhead trolley wires
but not operated upon rails.
